Building a community around providing vocational and life skills learning, with mentoring, and employment opportunities to develop self-sufficiency. Where housing, working and training are provided to a steady supply of talent and support for the talent is in place to ensure a high level of success. And, lastly, a safety net provided should they falter in the future.
The old Dana College (KLC) has been donated to Angel’s Share, a 501(c)3 organization, for development of a community for youth aging out of foster care or a similar tragic environment. Dana is located in Blair, NE and is approximately 20 minutes from Omaha on the recently completed 4-lane highway and is part of the Omaha MSA.
The campus is complete with 5 dormitory buildings for conversion to apartments, a gymnasium, library, fine arts building and numerous other buildings either rentable to companies and institutions for self-sustaining income or converted to apartments for more youth and elderly.
Those wanting to work or be trained in a trade should have that opportunity. The Blair community has jobs with health benefits available at companies such as Woodhouse, Sid Dillon, Eriksen Construction, Sterling Transportation, and many other area companies. Working with Sterling Transportation and the NE Truckers Assoc. we are working to develop CDL drivers for positions. We will also create mentoring programs utilizing the experience of our elderly in the community.
Angels Share, represents the success that is possible when ambition, innovation, and investment dovetail toward the goal of delivering forward-thinking change.
